Functional Hormone Testing
Functional diagnostic testing refers to a group of tests that aim to assess the underlying causes of symptoms and health issues by looking at how well different bodily systems are functioning. These tests go beyond simply diagnosing a disease or condition; instead, they are holistic in nature and focus on identifying dysfunctions or imbalances in the body's systems that might not yet be showing obvious disease symptoms. Functional hormone testing is a method of evaluating hormone levels in the body to assess how well the endocrine system is functioning, rather than just measuring whether hormones are within a “normal” range. The goal is to identify any hormonal imbalances and to create personalised treatment plans based on the test results that focus on re-balancing these hormones to improve your health.

As Nutritional Therapist, I have access to a number of companies and laboratories that provide high quality, comprehensive hormone testing. I am trained to interpret the results of these tests to identify any abnormalities as well as understanding what impact these have on the female body.
Hormone testing is most commonly tested via saliva, blood or urine samples, depending on which hormones we are interested in. Unless requested by you, I will only recommend functional hormone testing if I think it is necessary and will benefit you. If required, functional testing will be priced individually.

I offer the following functional testing:

Female Hormone Test Profile
A hormone test designed to assess the levels of essential hormones in women's bodies. This test aims to identify any hormonal imbalances contributing to symptoms or health concerns.

Fertility Testing
Fertility testing can provide key insights into the functioning of our reproductive health and ovarian reserve (egg count). There are a whole range of different hormones that work hard to regulate the menstrual cycle and ovulation. If just one becomes imbalanced, it can throw the whole system off.

Pregnancy Nutrition Testing
Pregnancy nutrient testing can help identify if you're getting the right amount of nutrients to support your pregnancy and your baby's development. This test can also help you avoid iron deficiency.
